03 · West Gwillimbury, specifically
Things that only
apply to West Gwillimbury.
Every one of the points below would be wrong if you swapped another town name into it. That is the test we hold this page to.
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury includes Bradford itself plus Bond Head, Newton Robinson, Coulson's Hill and the farming concessions across the Holland Marsh. If your address says West Gwillimbury, our clinic is in your own municipality and you pay the same tax bill we do.
The rural side of the town is a working agricultural community. The Holland Marsh grows a very large share of Ontario's carrots, onions and celery, and the people who grow them spend spring through autumn outdoors. Cumulative sun damage on the forearms, neck and face is the single most common thing we assess in growers.
Bond Head is ten minutes west on Highway 88 and is about to grow substantially under an approved secondary plan. Newton Robinson and Coulson's Hill sit north on County Road 4 and are around fifteen minutes.
There is no other clinic in the rural part of the town. Bradford has two aesthetic practices and both are in the built-up area, which means anyone on a concession road is driving in regardless.
04 · The long version
Why West Gwillimbury clients
make the drive.
Same municipality, same tax bill
Bradford and West Gwillimbury have been one town since 1991. If your address is in West Gwillimbury, Bond Head, Newton Robinson or Coulson’s Hill, or on one of the concession roads across the marsh, we are not a clinic in another town. We are the clinic in yours.
That makes this page short, because there is no drive to justify.
Getting in from the rural side
From Bond Head it is ten minutes straight east on Highway 88, which becomes Holland Street West. We are at number 444, on the north side, before the Barrie Street lights.
From Newton Robinson and Coulson’s Hill, County Road 4 runs south to Highway 88, then east. About fifteen minutes.
From the marsh concessions, either Canal Road across to Highway 400 or Yonge Street north into town, depending on which side of the marsh you farm.
Farming skin
The Holland Marsh is one of the most productive vegetable-growing areas in Canada, and the people who work it spend seven months a year outdoors. That produces a very specific pattern: heavy cumulative UV on the forehead, nose, cheekbones, ears, the back of the neck and the forearms, usually with a sharp line where a shirt sleeve sat.
Two things are worth saying about that. First, it is treatable. BBL broadband light and CO2 laser resurfacing both work well on it, and both are best started in the low-UV months when you are not back out in the field the following week.
Second, and more importantly, sun-damaged skin needs a proper look before anyone treats it cosmetically. Some of what turns up on a farmer’s forearms is not cosmetic. Our Medical Director, Alex Dinovich, is a Nurse Practitioner, which means the person assessing you is qualified to tell the difference and to say when something needs referral rather than a laser.

Questions we get
from West Gwillimbury.
Is Bradford Skin Clinic in West Gwillimbury?
Yes. Our address, 444 Holland St W, Unit #2, is inside the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Bradford and West Gwillimbury are the same municipality, amalgamated in 1991.
How do I get in from Bond Head?
Highway 88 east, ten minutes, no turns. We are on the north side of Holland Street West before you reach the Barrie Street lights.
From Newton Robinson or Coulson's Hill?
County Road 4 south to Highway 88, then east into Bradford. Around fifteen minutes.
I work outdoors on the marsh. What should I be looking at?
A proper skin assessment first, because outdoor work produces both cosmetic sun damage and things that need medical attention, and they can look alike. Our Medical Director is a Nurse Practitioner, so that assessment is a clinical one.
Do you do anything besides cosmetic treatments?
Yes. Medical weight loss led by our Nurse Practitioner, naturopathic consults with Dr. Erica Vriend, ND, hair loss treatment, vitamin IV drips and pelvic floor strengthening.
