04 · The long version

Why Orillia clients
make the drive.

An hour is an hour

Orillia to Bradford is about eighty-five kilometres. Highway 11 south to the 400 at Barrie, then the 400 south to Exit 64. Straightforward driving, mostly divided highway, but it is an hour each way and the route takes you directly through Barrie, which has more medical aesthetics clinics than the rest of Simcoe County combined.

We are not going to write a page pretending that is a sensible weekly commute. It is not.

The narrow case where it makes sense

There is a version of this that works, and it depends entirely on frequency.

Treatments that happen two, three or four times a year and produce months of change are worth a long drive. CO2 laser resurfacing is the clearest example. So is a Morpheus8 course, and so is BBL for accumulated pigmentation. If you are travelling from Orillia, those are the reasons.

Treatments that happen every eight to twelve weeks are not worth it. Neuromodulator maintenance, regular facials, ongoing laser hair removal courses: find those in Barrie or in Orillia itself. If you call us and describe that, we will say so.

Lake Couchiching skin

Orillia is a town on the water, with Couchiching Beach Park and the Port of Orillia at the centre of it and Lake Simcoe on the other side. Reflected sun off water is the most under-recognised cause of the pigmentation pattern people notice in their forties: the tops of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose, the forearms and the upper chest.

That pattern responds well to BBL and CO2, and it responds best when treatment happens in the low-UV months. If you are going to make the drive, October through March is the window that gets the most out of it.

If you do come

Plan one visit that does several things. Tell us on the phone that you are coming from Orillia and we will look at whether a consultation, a treatment and a naturopathic appointment can sit inside the same afternoon rather than three separate trips.

08 · Asked from Orillia

Questions we get
from Orillia.

Honestly, is this drive worth it from Orillia?

For a routine appointment, no. Barrie is thirty minutes closer and well served. The drive makes sense only for a treatment you cannot get closer, done a small number of times a year, ideally combined with other appointments in the same visit.

What would actually justify it?

A CO2 resurfacing course, Morpheus8, or a combined plan that also involves our naturopathic doctor. Those are the things that take a few visits a year rather than one every few weeks.

How long is the drive?

About an hour, Highway 11 south to the 400 at Barrie, then south to Exit 64. It is almost entirely divided highway, so it is a straightforward drive even if it is a long one.

Can I get several things done in one visit?

Where it is clinically sensible, yes, and from Orillia we would plan it that way. Tell us the distance when you book so we can build the appointment properly rather than splitting it.

Do you have anything closer to Orillia?

No. We have one clinic, in Bradford. We would rather tell you that up front than have you arrive expecting a satellite location.

09 · Closer than you think
