TriFractional Before and After

Pollogen’s new TriFractional Technology is clinically proven to help improve the texture of older scars while reducing newer scars.

About Scars

Scars form as a result of injury to the skin. When the skin is injured, the body creates a fibrous tissue to cover the wound. While this scar tissue consists of the same tissue as that which it replaces, the fiber composition of this collagen protein is different.

While normal tissue has a random basket weave formation, the post injury tissue forms cross-links that is pronounced and runs in one direction only.

Scar tissue is not of the same quality as the original skin tissue and does not have the ability to rejuvenate itself.

Types of Scars

There are four different types of scars, each with its own characteristics.

  • Acne Scars: There are several different kinds of acne scars, some deep and pitted and others wavelike or angular. These scars form once active acne has ceased.
  • Contracture Scars: Resulting from burns, these scars pull on the edges of the skin, causing a tightness.
  • Keloid Scars: When the healing process is overly aggressive, scars end up larger than the size of the original injury.
  • Hypertrophic Scars: These red, raised scars are similar to keloid scars above, but they do not appear larger than the original injury site.

Pollogen offers a range of convenient, yet effective treatments to help significantly reduce the appearance of scars.

About Acne Scars

Most teenagers suffer from acne, and scars often remain long after the acne has ceased to plague you.

Acne scars in adults are pretty common, but they may hamper your confidence and the way you see yourself. If acne scars are affecting your life in any way, it is time to consider treatment options.

Acne scars may appear as bumps or pits in your skin.

Depressed Acne Scars: Depressed acne scars appear as depressions, or pits, on your skin and occur when your skin loses muscle or fat. In some cases, depressed scars can cause a wavy texture to your skin, and that is known as rolling acne scars. Ice-pick scars are narrow, sharp indents that give your skin a punctured appearance.

Raised Acne Scars: Often itchy and painful, these scars appear above your skin’s surface. They may become larger over time.

It is important to use the correct skin care products and to protect your skin from the sun. Keeping the skin healthy will help control breakouts that cause additional scarring.

Deep scarring requires more powerful treatments, such as Pollogen’s TriFractional treatment that has been proven to be effective in leaving your skin fresh and healthy and the scars significantly reduced.
